By creating an account or otherwise using the Orbis service ("Orbis" or the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you (an individual or the entity you represent) and Orbis Labs Inc. (referred to as "Orbis," "we," "us," or "our"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
Because Orbis is an online service, we may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify users (for example, via an email or an in-app notice). Your continued use of Orbis after the Terms have been updated constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
Orbis is an AI-native relationship workspace designed for founders and early teams to manage professional relationships across fundraising, hiring, and partnerships. The platform provides relationship intelligence rather than traditional contact management.
Key features of Orbis include:
The Service may be accessed via our web application hosted at meetorbis.com. Some features require integrating third-party accounts (e.g., Google) and are optional.
Orbis also offers a Chrome browser extension that allows you to import contacts from supported platforms (such as Luma event pages) directly into your Orbis account.
Orbis is currently provided as a free service with core functionality available to all users; however, we reserve the right to introduce paid plans or premium features in the future. We will inform you of any pricing changes in advance, and you will have the choice to continue with a paid plan or use a free tier if available.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Orbis. By agreeing to these Terms, you represent that you are 18 or older and capable of forming a binding contract. Orbis is not intended for users under 18, and we do not knowingly permit such individuals to use the Service (see Privacy Policy: Children's Privacy).
To access most features, you must create an Orbis account. This may involve signing up with an email/password or using a third-party login (such as Google OAuth). You agree to provide truthful, accurate, and complete information during registration, and to keep your account information up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login credentials. If you use a third-party login (e.g., Google), you must ensure your third-party account remains secure; any breach of your Google account may affect the security of your Orbis data.
You are responsible for all activities that occur under your Orbis account. You agree to notify us immediately at support@meetorbis.com if you suspect any unauthorized access or use of your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to secure your account. We may also require you to take steps to secure your account (such as changing password) if we detect potential security issues.
When using Orbis, you agree to comply with the following rules and responsibilities:
You will use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You will not use Orbis in any manner that violates any applicable laws or regulations (including data privacy laws when adding personal information of others).
If you input personal information of your contacts or connect to external accounts (such as Google Contacts, Calendar, or Gmail), you confirm that you have the right to do so. For example, if you synchronize your Google Contacts, make sure you have consent or a legitimate basis to process and upload those contacts into Orbis. You agree not to misuse any personal data obtained through Orbis. Any personal data you access through Orbis (including data about third parties like your contacts) should only be used for the purposes for which that data was provided and in compliance with all privacy laws and our Privacy Policy.
You will not use the Service to transmit any viruses, malware, or any other harmful code. You will not attempt to hack, overload ("DDOS"), or impair the functionality or security of Orbis's systems. You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to discover the source code or underlying trade secrets of Orbis, except to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law.
You may not use Orbis to store or share content that is obscene, harassing, threatening, hateful, or otherwise objectionable or unlawful. This includes any content that infringes intellectual property rights or privacy rights of others. While Orbis is primarily for your private relationship-management data, if any content you input into Orbis is shared (for example, if we introduce collaboration features in the future), you are responsible for ensuring you have rights to that content.
If you use integrations, you must comply with the third-party providers' terms of service. For instance, using the Gmail integration means you must adhere to Google's Gmail program policies. You should not use Orbis's integration features to spam or violate the acceptable use policies of those external services. We specifically note that Orbis's use of Google data is subject to Google's API policies, and by using the Google integration you also agree to abide by Google's relevant terms.
The Service's AI features (like email draft generation and relationship insights) are provided to assist you. You understand that AI-generated content is for convenience and should be reviewed before use. You agree not to misuse these features (e.g., not to generate content for harassment, spam, or any unlawful purposes). We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI outputs and you should not rely on them for critical decisions without verification.
We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action (including account suspension or termination) for any violations of this section. You are responsible for your own conduct and any data or content you enter into Orbis.
Orbis integrates with certain third-party services to enhance functionality, including Google's APIs and AI services. By using these optional integrations, you understand and agree to the following:
If you connect your Google account to Orbis, you are authorizing us to access your Google Contacts, Calendar, and/or Gmail data as described in the Privacy Policy. Depending on the features you use, this may include reading data to import into Orbis, sending emails on your behalf, modifying email state (archiving, labeling), and creating calendar events. All modifications are user-initiated.
You can revoke access at any time via Google's security settings at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions or within Orbis. Your use of Google services in connection with Orbis is subject to Google's Terms of Service. Orbis is not endorsed by or affiliated with Google, and your interactions with Google's API are between you and Google. We act as an agent on your behalf to retrieve or send data to Google with your permission.
Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance: Orbis's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. This means:
Orbis uses third-party AI platforms (including Anthropic and OpenAI) to provide AI functionalities such as email draft generation and relationship insights. By using these features, you consent to your relevant data (e.g., an email's text, contact context) being sent to these providers for processing. Our AI providers process data solely to generate the specific output you requested and do not use your data to train their general models.
While we have agreements in place to protect your data, we cannot guarantee these external services' performance or availability. If an AI service is unavailable or yields an incorrect result, Orbis is not liable for any consequences. You also acknowledge that AI services may have their own terms of use; by using the AI features, you agree to comply with any such terms when applicable.
The Orbis Chrome extension allows you to import contact information from third-party platforms such as Luma. By using the extension, you represent that:
We are not affiliated with Luma or other supported platforms. Your use of those platforms is governed by their respective terms of service.
Our website or app may occasionally contain links to third-party websites or services (for example, documentation or partner sites). We are not responsible for the content or practices of any third-party websites. Accessing those sites is at your own risk, and they are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
We strive to ensure integrations run smoothly, but we do not guarantee the continued availability of any third-party integration. Third-party providers may change their API terms, pricing, or functionality, which could affect how Orbis features work. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any integration if required. We will try to provide notice if any significant integration is removed or changed.
At present, Orbis is free to use at meetorbis.com. There are no subscription fees for the core functionality in our initial offering. In the future, we may introduce paid features or subscription plans. If we do so, we will clearly communicate the pricing and any terms specific to those plans. You will not be charged unless you explicitly choose to subscribe to a paid plan.
If you opt to purchase any premium features or subscriptions (should they become available), you agree to pay all applicable fees. Payments would be handled via a secure third-party payment processor (e.g., Stripe) – we would not store your credit card information directly. You must provide current, accurate payment information and promptly update it if it changes. All fees are stated in U.S. Dollars (USD) unless otherwise specified, and are exclusive of any applicable taxes. You are responsible for paying any such taxes as required by your jurisdiction.
We want you to be satisfied with Orbis. If we introduce paid plans, we will offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for new subscribers. If you purchase a subscription or paid feature and are not satisfied, you may request a full refund within 30 days of your initial purchase by contacting support@meetorbis.com with your account details and purchase information. Refunds will be credited back to the original payment method. This refund policy applies only to first-time purchases or first subscription periods. After the 30-day window, all sales are final and non-refundable, except at our discretion or where required by consumer protection laws.
If we plan to change pricing or introduce new charges, we will provide advance notice. You will have the opportunity to review and accept any new fees. If you do not agree, you may discontinue use of paid features before the new fees take effect or downgrade to a free plan if available. Continued use of the paid Service after the price change goes into effect constitutes your agreement to pay the updated amount.
The Orbis Service, including all content, software, and technology underlying the Service, is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by intellectual property laws. This includes the Orbis name and logo, all software code, design elements, graphics, layout, and the compilation of content on the platform. You are not granted any ownership rights in Orbis by using the Service. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Orbis for your personal or internal business use, in accordance with these Terms.
You agree not to copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of Orbis's software or included content, nor attempt to extract the source code of that software, except to the extent permitted by applicable law or with our written permission. If you provide feedback or suggestions about Orbis, we may use it without any obligation to you.
You retain all rights to the data and content you input into Orbis (your contacts, notes, interaction logs, etc.). We do not claim ownership over your personal data. By using Orbis and inputting content, you grant us the right to process and display that content for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This includes making backup copies and displaying data to you or, if you choose to share it, to those you authorize. This license to your content is non-exclusive and is solely to let us operate, maintain, and improve the Service in accordance with the Privacy Policy. We do not share your content with other users or third parties except as described in the Privacy Policy. If you delete your content or account, we will cease using it (aside from residual copies in backups and as needed for legal compliance).
Some features in Orbis may utilize third-party libraries, APIs, or content under license. All such third-party materials remain the property of their respective owners. Using Orbis does not grant you rights to any third-party content accessed through the platform. If you believe that any content in Orbis infringes your intellectual property rights, please notify us with details so we can investigate and address it.
You may stop using Orbis at any time. You also have the option to delete your account through the account settings. If you need assistance with account deletion, contact support@meetorbis.com. Terminating your account will remove your access to the Service and delete your personal data as detailed in the Privacy Policy's Data Retention section.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Orbis (or certain features of the Service) at our sole discretion, with or without notice, if we believe: (a) you have violated these Terms or any policies referenced herein, (b) you create risk or possible legal exposure for us, (c) your account has been inactive for an extended period, or (d) our provision of the Service to you is no longer commercially viable. We will make a reasonable effort to notify you (via the email associated with your account) of any material suspension or termination, unless we are legally prohibited from doing so or if the termination is due to clear violations or abuse.
If your account is terminated by us due to violation of Terms or misconduct, you will not be entitled to any refunds for any fees you have paid (if applicable), and you may be barred from re-registering or using Orbis in the future. If we terminate the Service entirely (discontinue it for all users), we will inform users and, if applicable, provide pro-rated refunds for any prepaid services.
Upon termination of your account, whether by you or us, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You should export any data you need prior to terminating your account. We are not liable to you or any third party for termination of your access to Orbis or for deletion of your data after account termination, as long as we comply with the Privacy Policy and applicable law. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property ownership, disclaimer of warranties, limitation of liability, dispute resolution) will remain in effect.
Orbis is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we strive to offer a great service, we make no warranty that Orbis will meet your requirements or that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We do not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of any information obtained through the Service (for example, AI-generated email drafts, contact enrichment data, or relationship insights). You understand that use of the Service is at your own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties and conditions of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to any warranties of title, non-infringement, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy. We also make no warranty that the results obtained from the use of the Service will be effective or reliable, or that any defects or errors in the Service will be corrected.
We have no control over the availability or reliability of any third-party integrations (such as Google's services or AI providers). We do not warrant or support third-party products or services, except as explicitly provided. Any issues with third-party services are the responsibility of those providers. We will make a good-faith effort to minimize disruptions where possible.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above disclaimers may not apply to you. In such cases, any implied warranties are limited to the minimum scope and duration allowed by law.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Orbis and its creators, owners, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, or business opportunities, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. This limitation of liability applies to all claims, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory.
In particular, we shall not be liable for: (a) any loss or disclosure of data (unless caused by our failure to apply reasonable data security measures as described in the Privacy Policy), (b) any performance issues or lack of availability of the Service, (c) the cost of procurement of substitute services, (d) any conduct or content of any user or third party using the Service.
Under no circumstances will Orbis's total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service exceed the amount you have paid to Orbis in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or US $100, whichever is greater. If you have not paid any amount (for free users), our total liability shall not exceed $100.
This limitation is cumulative and will not be increased by the existence of more than one incident or claim. Because some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, in such jurisdictions our liability will be limited to the extent permitted by law.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Orbis and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees and costs) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your access to or use of the Service, (b) your violation of any provision of these Terms or of any law or regulation, (c) your infringement of any intellectual property or other rights of any third party (for example, if you upload data to Orbis that you have no right to share, or if you misuse information from Orbis in a way that harms someone's privacy), or (d) any dispute you have with a third party relating to your use of the Service. We reserve the right, at our own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you (in which case, you agree to cooperate with our defense of such claim). This indemnification obligation will survive the termination of these Terms and your use of the Service.
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or the Service will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and, specifically, the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
You agree that any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms will be brought exclusively in the federal or state courts located in San Francisco, California, and you irrevocably consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts. If you are using Orbis from outside the United States, note that you are voluntarily transferring information and engaging with the Service in the U.S., and you agree that U.S. laws (and specifically California law) will govern any disputes.
However, we recognize that laws of your country may allow you to bring or defend a claim in your local courts under certain conditions (for example, if you are a consumer in the European Union, you may have the right to proceed in your home country). Nothing in this section is intended to limit any rights you have under mandatory law, including the right to seek relief in the courts of your home country if applicable law so provides.
We make no representation that the Service is appropriate or available in locations outside of the United States. We initially target users in the USA but welcome users from other regions. If you access Orbis from outside the USA, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws. You also consent to the transfer and processing of your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which may involve storage and processing in the USA or other countries.
Orbis may revise these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be posted on our website (with the "Last Updated" date at the top). If a revision includes significant changes that affect your rights or obligations, we will notify you of the upcoming changes, for example by sending an email to the address associated with your account or by displaying a prominent notice within the Service. We will endeavor to provide at least 15 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect.
If you continue to use Orbis after the new Terms become effective, you will be considered to have accepted the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you should stop using the Service before the changes take place and, if necessary, delete your account.
These Terms (along with the Privacy Policy and any additional guidelines or terms provided for specific services or features) constitute the entire agreement between you and Orbis concerning the Service, and supersede any prior agreements or understandings regarding the same. Any failure by us to enforce a provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
If any provision of these Terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remainder of the Terms shall remain in full effect.
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights or obligations under them without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction as part of a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganization, or sale of assets, or by operation of law or otherwise. These Terms will bind and inure to the benefit of the respective successors and permitted assigns of the parties.
No joint venture, partnership, employment, or agency relationship exists between you and Orbis as a result of these Terms or your use of the Service. You are using Orbis as an independent individual or entity.
We will not be liable for any failure or delay in our performance under these Terms (such as provision of the Service) due to any cause beyond our reasonable control, including acts of war, acts of God, power or internet outages, strikes, supply shortages, or government action.
If you have any questions about these Terms or need to get in touch for any reason, please contact us:
